    Descriptive info: WELCOME MESSAGE.. President of ASPID.. Chair of 5th ACPID.. Dear Colleagues,.. After three years from the event of the 4th Asian Congress of Pediatric Infectious Disease (ACPID) which was held at Surabaya, Indonesia 2008, we will meet again in the fifth ACPID.. I am delighted to welcome you to the 5th ACPID in Taipei, Taiwan on 23-26 September 2010.. This congress will be in conjunction with the 6th Annual Meeting of Global Chinese Association of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.. As we all know, infectious diseases endemic in Asian region are not yet eradicated.. There are still a number of important problems and unresolved issues affecting the health and  ...   and emergence of new ones.. In this meeting, individual experiences can be shared and suggestions can be given to reach an agreement on the best options regarding diagnosis, diagnostics and management of these diseases to improve the welfare of our children.. My sincere appreciation to the speakers who have agreed to share their knowledge and expertise on relevant issues, to all participants as well as to our dear sponsors.. Applicants can range from student, individuals at the early career stage or be experienced contributors who are unable to attend because for restricted finance.. Priority will be given to persons who have not received support previously and who do not hold a permanent senior position.. The Organizing Committee will select a number of recipients for the grant.. As there are limited numbers of Travel Award, please seek alternate funds and make travel plan early.. Eligibility Criteria.. Applicants must be permanent residents of countries other than Taiwan.. Applicants must be under and including the age of 45 in the congress year..
