The Chester Bowl Improvement Club (CBIC), a non-profit program that depends on the generosity of volunteers to make the programs successful, runs the Chester Bowl ski program and other programs offered during the year.. CBIC’s goal is to make programs available to families at affordable prices, but that can only be accomplished with the assistance of the many volunteers that help with our programs throughout the year.. What types of volunteer opportunities are available for me to complete my volunteer hours?.. There are many opportunities available for getting volunteer hours before, during and after the ski season.. Sign-ups for volunteer opportunities are available during the ski lottery and ski fittings as well as on sign-up sheets in the Chalet during the ski season.. Some opportunities are as follows:.. Ski helmets are REQUIRED in order to participate in the ski races.. Can I use my ski pass anywhere else?.. Through the generosity of area ski hills, you are able to get one free day of skiing (at each) Spirit Mountain, Mont Du Lac Ski Area and Mt.. Ashwabay (Bayfield, WI).. Your ski pass is required when you go there and a hole will be punched in it to indicate the free pass opportunity has been used for the season.. Is food available at Chester Bowl?.. We have a concession area on the second level of the Ski Chalet with limited food options available for a nominal fee.. SKI LOTTERY QUESTIONS.. What is the ski lottery?.. The ski lottery is simply a process we use to schedule the ski fittings for the many pairs of skis we rent each year.. We have several ski fitting dates available during November.. The ski lottery is an equitable way of determining when each person/family is able to come to Chester Bowl to get fitted for their ski rentals for the season.. Does the whole family need to come to the ski lottery?.. No, only one person from a family needs to attend the ski lottery.. Can I sign up for ski fitting times for another family?.. Each family must send a family member to the Ski Lottery.. If you miss the Ski Lottery, there is still a chance your family can get ski equipment for the upcoming season.. The CBIC will continue to rent skis on a limited basis.. HOWEVER, IT IS IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO ATTEND THE LOTTERY.. Will we get our skis during the lottery?.. No, the lottery is only to determine the ski fitting timeslot(s) for each person/family.. When are the ski fittings held?.. There are 8-10 ski fitting dates scheduled during the month of November.. Ski fittings are scheduled in 2-minute increments from 5:30-8:30 during each of the ski fitting dates.. You will need a ski fitting timeslot for each person who will need a ski rental package.. What do I need to bring to the lottery?.. You should bring your calendar to the ski lottery so you can determine which ski fitting dates will work for you and/or your family.. Do I need to pay for ski rentals and season passes at the lottery?.. You do not need to pay for ski rentals and season passes at the lottery.. Ski package rental and season pass fees are due at the ski fittings.. SKI FITTINGS.. What do I need to bring to the ski fittings?.. Each member of the family getting skis must come to the ski fittings to be properly fitted for boots, skis, poles and helmets.. Fees for ski package rentals and season passes are due at the ski fittings.. A headshot picture, approximately 1¼“ x 1 ½“ is needed for each person getting a ski pass.. Wallet-sized school photos work well for these if you have them.. Sign-ups for volunteer opportunities are available during ski fittings so a calendar of your available dates and times might be handy.. This will also allow you to record the dates and times you have chosen to volunteer as well.. Each child needs to sign a Behavior Contract during the Ski Fittings.. There is a no tolerance policy for bullying and other bad behavior at Chester Bowl.. These contracts indicate that each child is aware of this policy prior to the start of the ski season.. How long will ski fittings take?.. Ski fittings will take approximately 15-30 minutes (or more if you have a number of people getting ski packages), depending upon the number of people in your family who need to be fitted for ski packages.. Where do I go for ski fittings?.. You will need to start with some paperwork on the second floor of the Chalet first, then you will take that to the Ski Garage across the street for the actual ski fittings.. After receiving ski packages, you will return to the Chalet to complete paperwork and pick up ski passes for the season.. _JBK1374.. _JBK1381.. _JBK1398.. _JBK1410.. _JBK1415.. _JBK1419.. _JBK1456.. _JBK1462.. _JBK1490.. _JBK1523.. _JBK1539-2.. _JBK1643.. _JBK1648-2.. _JBK1691-2.. _JBK1696.. _JBK1700.. _JBK1703.. _JBK1730..
