At Sara’s Table / Chester Creek Cafe has graciously offered to host a benefit for Chester Bowl to help repair damage from the recent storms.. A big thanks to them.. The event is being planned for Saturday, July 21 in the Chester Creek Cafe parking lot.. They need volunteers to help with the event, and if you’re not crazy about standing on the ski hill watching race gates in the middle of winter, this may be the perfect way to get some volunteer hours logged for next season, or if you need hours  ...   to help with sound.. 2-4 people for crowd control.. 3-5 people on set-up.. 3-5 people on clean -up.. 1 Kids or activites director (this could include a.. raffle).. We lost 8 potential days of snowmaking last week when we had above freezing temperatures.. We are currently making as much snow as possible, to have a good base by opening day.. Non-Skier Lesson Participants-.. Now that we have snow on the ground, it will help non-skiers get adjusted to having boots skis on, if they can walk around outdoors with their skis on.. This will help them be ready for lessons when they start on Dec.. 26.. New Programs-.. Beginning on Monday, January 7th, we will offer free TELEMARK skiing lessons, by Al Hagen, and SNOWBOARDING lessons by Sam Luoma.. Bring your equipment and learn from our experts! Open to all, from children to seniors.. Please bring: work gloves, garden shovels rakes, chain saws, pruners, lopers, wheelbarrows and other outdoor tools that might be useful.. Please meet at the playground for a name tag to assigned to a group.. Several people are needed to be group leaders.. Please respond if you will be a group leader, will help in general what tools you can bring.. We need several people that can safely operate chainsaws, and others to drag debris away to the road where it will be picked up by city crews.. We will start at the park entrance eventually work our way back towards the soccer field.. Please help pass the word on this to anyone who loves Chester Park would like to be of service..
