    Descriptive info: Public Forum in Siem Reap (19 July 2012).. Human Rights Network Project on 2012-07-19 in Phneat village, Chi Kraeng commune, Chi Kraeng district, Siem Reap province.. Around 150 villagers from Chi Kraeng commune participated public forum on “Human Rights and Development”, arranged by Cambodian Center for Human Rights on 19 July 2012 in Chan Bopharam pagoda, Phneat village, Chi Kraeng commune, Chi Kraeng district, Siem Reap province.. There were three main issues raised in the forum were the first villagers requested for infrastructure (road, well, toilet, pump station…).. The second villagers raised the unconventional cases befell during the recent commune election.. The third was the most concerns and the long linger on land conflict in which 175 families in Chi Kraeng commune were claiming that they have lost their 475 farm land since2008.. As the results of the forum; however, district governor and commune chief urged villagers to do the list of landless families to commune office which would submit the list to provincial hall.. Anyways, villagers could send their message (requests, and issues) through invited lawmaker to raise awareness to National Assembly and RGC.. The Encountered Problems of the Labor Rights Activists.. One of the key steps in the development of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (“ASEAN”) – creating an ASEAN Human Rights Declaration (“AHRD”) – is one stage closer to fruition.. The first draft of the AHRD has now been completed and is set to come before the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (the “AICHR”) during its 11th meeting to be held on 8 and 9 January 2012 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.. Yesterday’s Eviction at Borei Keila Fails to Respect the “Three Pillars” of Business and Human Rights.. Released on 2012-01-04.. The Phnom Penh Post today reports (“A battle for Borei Keila”) that residents in Phnom Penh’s Borei Keila community were yesterday evicted from their homes before their homes were then demolished.. At least ten people were reportedly injured and another ten arrested during a violent armed clash between residents and a combined force of district police, military police and security guards from developer Phan Imex Company.. CCHR Releases an Analysis of the Fourth Draft of the LANGO that welcomes the improvements made and highlights existing areas of significant concern.. Released on 2011-12-18..
