On 10 December 2012, a group of domestic workers, factory workers, Tuk Tuk drivers and workers from other areas around 200 had gathered in front of Independent Democracy of Informal Economy Association (IDEA) with the attempt to march toward Ministry of Labour in order to celebrate the International Human Rights Day and to submit the petition to call for the government to ratify the ILO convention No 189 and call for better treatment for the maids.. They gathered at 7:00am and then walk out from IDEA’s office; however they were stopped by a group of around 20 police after 300 meters walk out from the office.. They stayed at that point for around 2 hours and then finally the authorities allow them to go forward, yet they were not allowed to walk they had to take Tuk Tuk.. When they arrived in front of the Ministry of Labour, only 10 representatives were allowed to be inside the Ministry of Labour to submit the petition, even media or HR observers were not allowed to be inside the fence of Ministry..
