  • Title: 25 Civil Society Organizations Send Four Messages to Ensure Peaceful Protests on June 30th » The Egyptian Association For Community Participation Enhancement
Descriptive info: 30.. 25 Civil Society Organizations Send Four Messages to Ensure Peaceful Protests on June 30th.. 27-06-2013, 18:50.. : 349 |.. Towards Protecting Rights and Freedoms and Establishing a Democratic Egypt:.. 25 Civil Society Organizations Send Four Messages to Ensure.. Peaceful Protests on June 30th.. Huge protests are anticipated on the coming June 30th that could amount to a few millions of Egyptian citizens, from both sexes.. The Campaign of Tamarrod "Rebellion", along with a number of Egyptian political parties and forces called for certain demands for that day, mainly, so far, withdrawing confidence from the current president Mohamed Morsy, and conducting early Presidential Elections after he steps down from his post.. These protests come as an assertion to the freedom of opinion and of peaceful assembly for all Egyptians, which is guaranteed by the Constitution and Universal Human Rights Documents, and as a reiteration to the fact that freedoms and respect for human rights are the main characteristics of Post-Revolutionary Egypt.. On the other hand, these protests come as a reaction to the failure of President Morsy to fulfill any of the goals of the January 25 Revolution, and to his disregard to the demands of the civil opposition and the revolutionary forces in the country.. These demands included removing the incompetent cabinet of Mr.. Hesham Qandeel, forming an non-partisan government to ensure free and integrate parliamentarian elections, respecting the freedom and independence of the judiciary, enforcing the verdict of the Administrative Court to disbanding the Muslim Brotherhood, annulling the illegitimate constitution and the subsequent constitutional declarations and their effects (on top of which the dismissal the Prosecutor-General), dissolution of the Shoura Council (Senate House), revoking all the laws it issued since the beginning of its first session, enforcing a transitional justice law and a fair elections law, as well as ceasing all the violations committed by the current regime against Egyptian citizens and especially revolutionary figures.. The signatory human rights figures show their solidarity and absolute support to the legitimate demands of the protesters, and hope that the protesters of June 30th remain peaceful, to ensure that no bloodshed occurs and in defense of the rights and freedoms of protesters, within the framework of the rule of law.. Hence, the below-listed signatory organizations call upon all concerned stakeholders at this very critical moment of the history of Egypt, namely the Ministry of Interior, the Military and President Morsy, to consider the following:.. First: The Ministry of Interior:.. The signatory organizations call upon the Ministry of Interior  ...   faction, and to leave the people to decide with their own free will on June 30th.. The Military should intervene in the coming June 30th.. only.. in case of the outbreak of violence on the street and the occurrence of bloodshed and if those representing Islamic forces resort to violence through their organized militias against those protesting against President Morsy.. Once the conflict passes, the Military should pass on leadership of the country to a civil entity.. Third: President Morsy:.. The signatory organizations call upon President Morsy to:.. Respond immediately to the voice of the Egyptian people through the demands of the protesters to give up his post as a president and call for early presidential elections, whether because millions went down on the streets on June 30th or because bloodshed occurred and violence broke out.. Disregard the opinion of his supporters and "clan", and other proponents of Political Islam, who advice the President to clutch onto power, despite his failure in governing the country's affairs.. This stance will eventually lead us to a dramatic scene and we all will pay a dear price for it.. Fourth: Protesters:.. Signatory human rights organizations call upon all revolutionary, civil and opposition parties participating in the protests, whether in the capital or other governorates of Egypt, to:.. Maintain the peacefulness of the protests and not to resort to violence, in order to avoid bloodshed, so that the popular, democratic and peaceful mobilization manage to achieve its.. goals, and to present to the world the revolutionary Egypt of the future.. Signatory Organizations:.. The Egyptian Association for Community Participation Enhancement.. The Egyptian Association for Economic and Social Rights.. The Egyptian Institution for the Support of Civil Society and Human Rights.. The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights.. The Arab Organization for Criminal Reform.. The Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights.. The Arab Bureau for Law.. The Arab Program for Human Rights.. Article 57 Association for Human Rights Advocacy.. Descriptive info: Towards the protection of religious freedoms and to enforce the notion of the rule of law EACPE calls upon Morsy the expedited trial of the perpetrators of the Shiites Massacre.. 25-06-2013, 21:26.. : 189 |.. Towards the protection of religious freedoms.. and to enforce the notion of the rule of law.. EACPE calls upon Morsy the expedited trial.. of the perpetrators of the Shiites Massacre.. The Egyptian Association for Community Participation Enhancement (EACPE) expresses its profound fear for the violent and ugly image of sectarian clashes, which occurred yesterday between some Sunni and Shiite Muslim Egyptians.. EACPE calls upon the President and his government to take on their responsibility of enforcing the rule of law in the country, and in protecting the lives of citizens, as well as providing sufficient guarantees for the free expression of religious opinions, and to deepen the values of equality, tolerance and combating religious extremism..  ...   the village.. In this context, EACPE condemns this hideous crime that is incompatible with basic human rights and the notion of the rule of law.. EACPE would like to mention that this is the first instance of sectarian clashes between Sunnis and Shiites in the history of Egypt, demanding the quick arrest and trial of perpetrators and everyone involved in inciting them to commit this crime, especially religious figures.. EACPE stresses the fact that security bodies' failure to address violence (sectarian and doctrinal), and to end the calls for religious hatred incriminated by the international human rights laws, is a sign of Egypt's return to "organized violence" just like the nineties of the past century.. Hence, EACPE calls upon the president to strictly enforce the law on those responsible for sectarian and doctrinal crimes and inciting religious hatred, and to put an end to the increased manipulation of religion in politics..
