Since then, we have established links and partnerships with a range of Palestinian organisations that we now work with on the ground, enabling  ...   would otherwise have not gone to school.. Our income generation schemes, such as providing sewing machines to poor families, buying rickshaws and cars to help start up small enterprises in communities, making a direct impact on national economies.. Water is a vital resource, and we continue to build water wells in Africa, as well as in parts of South Asia, such as in Bangladesh, where we have installed hand pumps to allow communities access to clean drinking water.. Our well programme in Africa continues to be an essential avenue of our work.. Our children’s homes are all integrated within local communities, so that our children reap the rewards and support of feeling part of wider community.. This is an essential.. • Title: News
Descriptive info: News.. Global Orphan Support.. We support children in various countries of the world, catered around the need of that child.. We understand that sometimes children who have become orphans need the love, care and support from extended family members.. So we have mechanisms to support children in different countries and tailor their support, to the need of a particular child.. So, in Gambia, Kenya, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Somalia, Tanzania, Yemen and Palestine we work with families who are supporting a child who has become an orphan.. We use both Child Sponsorships and our Orphan Support Fund to provide support to children.. You can contribute to this by donating as little as £3 per month to help our children.. Alternatively you can sponsor an orphan for £20 per month.. Tagged under.. orphans.. India.. Bangladesh.. Tanzania.. Burma - Rohingya Muslim Crisis.. When Cyclone Nargis hit Burma in 2008, Qaaf Aid responded with much needed supplies of resources for those most affected.. At the time, your generous donations were greatly appreciated by those who lost virtually everything.. Today a different type of calamity has beset many Muslims of Burma.. The UN has said the.. Rohingya.. are one of the.. most persecuted minorities.. in the world.. The Rohingyas are a Muslim minority in predominantly Buddhist Myanmar.. Violence often perpetrated by members of the majority Buddhist population has most recently erupted in June 2012, October 2012, March 2013, April 2013; it persists and is spreading to previously unaffected areas of the country.. The violence has reaped devastating effects.. We have methods of providing support directly to victims of this senseless violence.. Please donate to support our work.. Burma.. Muslims.. Water 4 Life Project.. QAAF AID WATER WELL PROGRAMME.. "OVER ONE BILLION PEOPLE ARE WITHOUT SAFE WATER.. AS A RESULT, A CHILD DIES EVERY 20 SECONDS FROM BORNE DISEASES".. According to the United Nations, 4400 children under the age of 5, die EVERYDAY around the word, after falling sick due to unclean water and sanitation.. In fact five times as many children die each year of diarrhea than from HIV/AIDS.. A third of the world's population is currently enduring some form of water scarcity.. One in every six humans beings has no access to clean water within a kilometer of their homes.. Half of all people in developing countries have no access to proper sanitation.. Water is critical for life and for livelihoods.. Yet billions of people suffer from disease, poverty and a lack of dignity and opportunity because they have no access to the basic resource - WATER.. Water is a precious resource in Africa.. In many parts of Africa, clean water is at a premium, and it is the children who end up being the ones who have to walk miles to gather drinking water, much of which is not even clean and fit for drinking.. We have a well development programme, through which we can build wells in places of greatest need.. Over the past 5 years Qaaf Aid has built hundreds of wells in some of the most remote parts of Africa, which make them even more vital as the lifelines for local communities.. Please help us by sponsoring a well which we can build in anyone's name you choose.. We will give you a special gift in return on behalf of the people benefiting.. Water Wells In Africa.. A Neighborhood Well - £650.. A Community Well - From £1000.. We also gave children gift packs donated by school children in the UK.. Please continue to help us help these children.. For more images on Syria.. click here.. Community Ambassadors.. We have recently developed Community Ambassadors in The Gambia to seek new areas of work in rural communities.. They will work within communities to understand the needs of children.. They are all inter-connected through the important networks of the ‘Council of Elders’ and Mosques and so provide a knowledge of the needs of local people.. This will give Qaaf Aid a better understanding of how to provide appropriate support to the local communities.. Qaaf Community Support Fund.. Qaaf Aid has established a new project to support people who have converted to Islam.. The project is developed to provide support for individuals.. The project supports those people whom feel isolated even from established Muslim communities.. Over the past year, we have come across a number of new Muslim converts, who are experiencing extreme hardships, rejection from their own families, experiencing Islamophobia.. Qaaf Aid feels Muslim converts are an essential part of British society and if appropriately supported could bring about greater integration between traditional Muslim communities and mainstream society, as they can act as a conduit between both.. Also the level of research on this community is relatively limited.. In a study conducted in 2011, the number of people converting to Islam estimated to be rising, with over 100,000 Muslim converts being in the UK.. The research cited a lack of support for converts and a feeling of isolation amongst them as well as a rejection from ‘born’ Muslims.. We have started work on trying to support individuals who find themselves isolated as a result of choosing to become Muslims.. This is an area of work Qaaf Aid is looking to expand.. Gaza, Palestine: The Children’s Centre.. Today, Palestinian children are suffering just as generations before them have, with the daily pressures of occupation.. Many have lost parents, brothers, sisters and other loved ones, and have had to endure the psychological and physical impacts on their young lives.. Enduring the trauma of loss or the the episodes of conflict has had a major impact on the children of Gaza.. As a response, we are helping build the Children Centre in Gaza, which will help children suffering from the psychological impact of conflict.. The psychological warfare on children has immeasurable consequences.. The treatment of their mental health is a way in which the health of a nation can be established.. Please help us achieve this.. Your donations are critical to the establishment of the Children's Centre in Gaza.. Hayfa Charitable Medical Centre.. Hayfa Medical Centre is in Gaza, Palestine.. This is a new project for Qaaf Aid.. In Palestine, health care comes at a premium.. The provision of daily medical essentials comes at a high cost, especially for the poor.. Children and particular orphans suffer from inadequacies of health care provisions and the spiralling costs of medication and treatment.. The medical centre delivers health care free for orphans thanks to our Orphan Support Fund.. A monthly donation, for as little as £3 a month, would help aid free medical care for poor Palestinian orphans and children.. Please donate generously.. Descriptive info: Childrens Education.. In The Gambia we helped establish a school.. Although the constitution of Gambia grants free education for children, the poor infrastructure means many children either have poor access to school or are unable to attend a school.. The Abu Hurrairah school provides primary education to approximately 200 children from nearby communities.. The children attending the school also receive vocational training on life skills which will give them the best possible chances in life.. The school is being linked with Oldham College in the UK to help develop some of its basic infrastructure.. Childrens School..

  • Title: Children in Conflict
Descriptive info: Children in Conflict.. T.. he Forgotten Palestinians of Jerusalem.. In East Jerusalem lies a neighborhood at the foot of Al Quds – Silwan.. It is estimated that over 50% of the population is under 18, and that 75% of the children live below the poverty line.. We are the only British NGO working in Jerusalem.. Many children are from time to time detained in prison cells and their homes are demolished regularly.. Many children suffer from emotional trauma resulting in mental health problems.. Silwan is the last neighbourhood before Masjid Al Aqsa and is a place of real contention for local Palestinians.. The occupation and particularly the intimidation by the hands of the Jewish settlers impacts on the welfare of the Palestinian children.. Reports of children as young as 5 being questioned by the Israeli Police are a regular occurance.. At Qaaf Aid we believe the childhood of children to be a sacred value and are working on the ground to support the children of Silwan.. Your support is needed to hear their cries.. The international community remains silent, as much of the attention on the Palestinians is hardly ever centred on the situations in Jerusalem.. However it is considered one of the most  ...   their children’s childhood is taken away from them, we are trying our upmost to ensure this does not happen.. Described by many as a 'heaven on earth' some of its isolated communities are virtually impossible to reach to in winter months and hazardous to get to during the summer.. Some of the most isolated communities in the Indian sub-continent live here.. Conflict has taken its toll on the people living here, with poor children having to earn money by carrying wood for miles.. Not only is there chronic poverty in the region, but natural resources such as water, which come from open channels from the hills and mountains are now highly contaminated leading to physical health problems, particularly amongst children.. The health conditions of people is exacerbated by the distance between their homes and any health dispensaries, adding to the suffering.. Over 70% of Chitral's population now live below the poverty line and orphans living in the region are amongst the hardest hit, with many of them finding physical labour as a means to buy grain to eat.. Qaaf Aid has supported families who live in the most remote parts of Chitral, with food, clothing and emergency health, Please help us to help them.. Poverty..
