The new version, called ERS-7, has many new features: voice and face recognition, new visual pattern recognition, wireless connection, 3 new infrared distance sensors,.. AIBO is able to connect wirelessly with other electronic devices, transmitting photos, sound files and messages and moreover it is able to find its Energy Station and recharge itself when its battery runs low.. In addition to increased voice recognition capabilities, which allow the robot to understand approximately180 voice  ...   card sized AIBO Cards that issue commands, change settings and modes.. Aibo is also able to recognize an edge, with its edge detection sensor, in order to reduce the risk of it falling off steep heights.. ASIMO is not autonomous and can be made to walk straight, walk backwards, walk sideways, walk diagonally, turn on the spot or walk around a corner by using a portable controller.. For the embedded world, new architectures and processor types have been added -- including support for MMU-less systems that do not have a hardware-controlled memory management scheme.. This crypto API includes various popular algorithms like MD4, MD5 DES, and so on.. Support for the new NFSv4 (Network File System) client/server has been added..     Descriptive info: In this page you can find everything about my master thesis:.. Study and design of a fuzzy hierarchical behaviour-based controller.. The focus of this thesis is on autonomous robot navigation in real-world, unstructured environments.. This field has the goal of moving the robots, purposefully and without human help, in environments that have not been engineered for them.. In particular, our work is focused on the study and development of a specific module of a robotic system, called control module.. We have developed a hierarchical, modular, efficient, behaviour-based controller, integrating it in a pre-existent architecture for autonomous robots.. This architecture, and hence our controller, will then be used in the application domain of assistance to fire fighters in emergency response operations.. Finally, we have experimentally validated the controller both in simulation and on a real robot in indoor environments.. I have worked to this project at the.. AASS.. center at.. This experiment is very similar to the previous one but the speed has been increased to 0.. 3 m/s and the first obstacle and the wood panels, that were in the corridor, have been removed.. The.. shows both the robot and a debug window where you can see which behaviours are active and what control values are sent to the robot.. Note that to reduce the dimension of the file (now is only 9 MB), the video has only 6 frames per second.. The third experiment:.. This experiment is totally different from the others because in this case the robot has to reach a particular point following a path that is computed on-line.. As you can see in the.. , at the beginning the robot doesn't have a complete map of the corridor and the path builded is unfeasible.. After a while the robot is able to complete the map and to find and follow a good path to reach the goal.. The video shows three different windows: one with the robot, one with the map of the corridor and one, called Local Perceptual Space window, where you can see the information collected by the robot using its sensors..

    Descriptive info: A small project using Aibo ERS-111.. AIBO is a Sony Entertainment robot designed as a companion and used also in many academic projects.. Using this robot, I made a small project with my friend.. Galtarossa Umberto.. With AIBO, Sony provides a particular software (called AIBO PERFORMER) that you can use to program the dog movements.. Unfortunately this tool is very poor and you can do only a few things; if you want to use some advanced features you can use a program language called R-CODE.. This language works only with ERS-1xx, in fact for the newer AIBO versions it is possible to use a more powerful language called OPEN-R.. R-CODE let you use procedures, the stack, cyclic statements, and also some system variables to manage the information about the robot status.. Obviously with this language is possible to move the robot and also to do an object tracking, that means to recognize an object and to look at it while moving.. AIBO ERS-1xx recognize an object only for its color, so two objects with different shape but the same color are recognized as the  ...   used not only the programs given with AIBO but also others tools downloaded from internet and developed by AIBO fans.. We used these tools to execute some advanced procedures like capturing the images taken by the AIBO camera and showing the emotions that AIBO feels when it views some colors.. We made some behaviours using the AIBO sensors and many R-CODE commands to show different features like:.. melody recognition.. object distance computation.. object tracking.. You can also download the source code of the three behaviours we made using the R-CODE language:.. Demo I.. Demo II.. Demo III.. Furthermore, we made a small program to create an AVI video using the images captured by the AIBO camera.. This software (called.. AiboVideoMaker.. ) uses the output given by another tool (called AiboScope) downloaded from.. AiboHack Site..
