    Descriptive info: The Homeless Network of Yakima County is a consortium of providers who serve the homeless and work together to reduce homelessness by 50% in Yakima County by 2014.. If you are in need of housing or other services please call 211 or the 107 House at 509-249-6232.. The Homeless Network of Yakima County is working to reduce homelessness in Yakima County.. Mission.. The mission of the Homeless Network of Yakima County is to advocate for the homeless people of Yakima County in order to improve the quality of life, increase public awareness of homeless issues, impact public policy, and end homelessness.. Vision.. The Homeless Network will use the Housing First Model with wraparound support services to move homeless individuals and families off the streets, into shelter, and on to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.. Additionally, many members of the homeless population have to combat barriers such as limited transportation and reduced access to educational and training programs.. We are continuing our OUTREACH TRAINING With Actual Outreach!.. BEFORE TRAINING.. Everyone interested needs to call or email Ellie Lambert to let us know the dates and times you will be attending training.. Please read and sign the Volunteer Aggrement and bring it with you to your first training date.. Volunteers will need to bring the folder they received in the kick off training.. BE PREPARED.. Wear warm, cofortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and a pair of sturdy boots.. Event 1.. STREET/SERVICES TRAININGS.. Mondays, 1 pm.. at the Yakima Transit Center.. The Homeless Network of Yakima County holds this event to determine the number of people who are homeless in Yakima County.. There are actually four event sites that have services and resources available to people in need.. This year, we are training people to assist in identifying people out in the field who might not make it to a site.. Donations of clothing, survival gear, and other essentials are greatly needed..
