Mihovil Vojnović was born in the village of Duce by Omiš.. He went to high school in Split, and acquired a history major BA from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb in 1961.. From 1962 to 1969 he worked as a teacher in the village of Lećevici.. From 1969 he was curator in the Museum of the People’s Revolution, Split, curator of the Three-Dimensional Objects Collection.. This museum was opened to the public in 1980, on Split Liberation Day.. For the permanent display, Vojnović worked out the museological conception and a scenario for the period from the capitulation of Italy in September 1943 until the end of World War II, in which he treated 21 thematic units.. In collaboration with other curators he worked on almost all the exhibitions: Tito in Dalmatia; Split Great Days of Freedom; Foundation of the First People’s government; Yugoslav Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War; 4th Split Assault Brigade; Split 1941-1945.. Together with co-author Tatjana Kovač, he published the book Commemorating the Revolution, in which there are descriptions of all the memorials dedicated to events from the history of the working class movement.. This was published by the Institute for the History of the Working Class Movement of Dalmatia.. He was a member of the Committee for the making of a new museum display of the 2nd Session of AVNOJ in Jajce.. From 1992 he was employed in Split Municipal Museum, where he worked on selecting and arranging material that with the abolition of the Museum of the People’s Revolution went to Split Municipal Museum.. He is one of the authors of the exhibition Split 1991; he is also author of the study List and Condition of Memorial Markings Erected from 1945 to 1994 for the city authority of Split.. He also takes part in arranging information about Split mayors from 1940 to 1990.. He authored the exhibition Emigration from Dalmatia, 1996; Croatian National Revival in Split, 1998; and Democratic Exhibitions in Split 1990-2000.. For his work he received commendations from SUBNOR and from the city of Split.. NB.. Tullio Vorano was born in 1946, Labin, where he went to (Italian) primary school and Croatian high school; he graduated in art history and history from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb.. He spent the whole of his career, from 1968, in the People’s Museum in Labin, as curator-manager.. He was twice acting director of the adult education establishment in Labin; for a year (1971) he was a part time history teacher in the Mate Blažina High School, Labin.. For one term of office he was a delegate in the Republican Culture SIZ and member of the Croatian Museum Council.. From 2004 to 2006 he was leader of the Association of Museum Officers and Gallerists of Istria; he was a member of the Council of the Historical Archives of Pazin, and a member of the Managing Council of the Ethnographical Museum of Istria in Pazin.. As representative of the Italian Community of Labin he was five times elected municipal and later city councillor..  ...   the development of Labin minds, Istrian coal mining, the workers’ movement in Labin area, miners’ strikes, and he authored the book Istrian Coal Mines, Four Centuries of Mining in Istria (1997).. He wrote two museum guides (2004, 2006), the foreword to a photographic monograph by Virgilio Giuricino Setting of an Age.. He is author of a collection of papers about the working class movement and the People’s Liberation War in Istria, the working class movement of the Labin area, 1921-1941, with wider references to Istria.. He has translated and edited Labin Historical Chronicle by Herman Stemberger (1983).. He has collaborated with the Historical Research Centre in Rovinj, the Labin Italian Community and the journal Istra.. In Labinska komuna he has published numerous articles about Labin societies and associations, and with the tourist office of Labin has taken part in the project Labin Art Republic.. He also translates from Italian, and as well as technical texts has translated the novel of Diego Zandel An Istrian Story.. He has won the Silver Plaque of the Labin Republic..     Descriptive info: Ivana Vrbanić-Fadjejev.. BA (art history).. curator (ret.. Documentalist.. fortifications in the Karlovac area, documentary research in Vienna and Graz related to the Military Frontier, translation.. Ivana Vrbanić Fadjejev was born in 1925 in Zagreb; she went to primary and secondary school in Zagreb, and also took a BA in art history at the Faculty of Philosophy in 1952.. Because of wartime and post-war conditions, she studied from 1944 to 1952, but while still a student was already working at the Museum of Arts and Crafts.. Both parents were of German descent, and as a child she had learned German, which made it easier for her later to do translations.. She spent a large part of her career in Karlovac Municipal Museum, where she was director.. She kept up constant links with the Federal Institute for the Conservation of Monuments of Culture, and travelled a lot, spending time in Vienna (1955-1957),  ...   working, spending her time there until she retired.. As well as the Collection of Documents from the People’s Revolution, the Culture History and Ethnographic Collections, Ivana Vrbanić Fadjejev also founded the Natural History Collection.. She enlivened the museum with the foundation of a gallery of paintings, in which Ivana Vrbanić Fadjejev, having previously converted the building, for the first time mounted an exhibition of paintings of Vjekoslav Karas.. She was president of the Regional Museums Section, dealt with the translation of specialised literature and documents for the Institute for the Conservation of Monuments of Culture.. For her work, she was given the City of Karlovac Prize, 1965; a Charter of Outstanding Success in the Museum Profession from the Federation of Associations of Museum Workers of Yugoslavia, 1983..     Descriptive info: Nada Vrkljan-Križić.. BA (French, art history).. museum adviser (ret.. Fine arts.. art criticism, marginal art, music criticism.. Nada Vrkljan Križić was born in Belgrade in 1940.. She spent her childhood in Zagreb, however (1940-1950) and in Opatija (1950-1958), her father being an hotelier.. From 1958 she lived in Zagreb.. She took a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, having read French and art history.. After her degree, she was for six years a translator in Siemens, for German.. After that, for nine years she was conservator in the Regional Institute for the Conservation of Monuments of Culture; for 12 years she was curator and senior curator in the Gallery of Primitive Art in Zagreb ; and for the rest of her career she was director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, museum adviser and manager of the Outsider Art department.. She spent six months at the Institut Royal du Patrimoine Artistique in Brussels (1979) studying conservation of art objects and the production of documentation  ...   periodicals dealing with culture and the arts.. Her bibliography has a substantial number of texts, forewords to catalogues, monograph catalogues and numerous lectures given at home and abroad.. She is the author of many exhibitions, including the presentations Outsiders or Marginal Art at Insita 94, international review of the Naive in Bratislava.. She has been particularly interested in the painting of Karlo Sirovy (1896-1948) and in many other outsiders, revealing something of the marvellous world of the Outsider.. She spent 2000 in France, on a Maison des cultures du monde / French government scholarship, on a course meant for foreign experts in culture and the arts.. From 2002 she was editor of the specialised journal Vijesti muzealaca i konzervatora of the Croatian Museum Association For her work she was made Chevalier de l ordre des Arts et des Letters by the French Ministry of Culture.. Mineralogical and Petrographic Museum,.. Vladimir Zebec was born in Budrovec in 1944.. He attended high school in Đurdevac but completed a course in mineralogy and petrography at the Natural Science and Mathematics Faculty in Zagreb.. In 1970 he was appointed trainee curator in the Mineralogical and Petrographic Museum in Zagreb; from 1986 to 1987 he was acting director, and when the institution was merged with the Croatian Natural History Museum he was manager of the Mineralogical and Petrographic Department.. He did a post-graduate course at Zagreb University, taking his MSc in 1980, with a dissertation on Epidote from Smiljevski Dol by Dunje.. Holding the rank of museum adviser, he manages the Trepce Busovača Collection  ...   For twenty years he lectured in petrography with geology at the Forestry Faculty, Zagreb, and for seven years lectures on mineralogy and petrography at the Earth Technology Faculty in Varaždin.. He published some forty scientific and twenty specialised papers.. He was engaged in scientific work through the topics of the Mineralogical and Petrological Institute of the NSM Faculty.. He deals with the story of morphology of minerals and the links of morphology with chemism and crystallisation conditions, oriented combinations of minerals, particularly sulphides.. He completed a specialisation in crystaloptics and crystallometry with Professor Ljudevit Barić.. In the last few years he has worked hard on the preparation of the Stari Trg Collection catalogue, as part of a monograph on this world-famed Kosovo mine.. He attended classics high school in Split, and took a BA (art history) and comparative literature from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb in 1964.. He was secretary of the Matica Hrvatska from 1966-1968; editor of the magazine Život umjetnosti.. He launched and managed the first thirteen numbers of the journal Hrvatski tjednik.. He was editor of the journal Kolo.. From 1972 he worked as an editor in the Matica Hrvatska publishing institute.. He went as director to the Modern Gallery in 1989.. He has written a number of monographs:  ...   the Croatian section at the Venice Biennale (1993, 1995).. He published books of poems Tkalac na propuhu (1972) and a collection of essays Granica i obostrano - studije i ogledi o hrvatskoj umjetnosti 20.. stoljeća, 1996.. His major achievements include the reconstruction and renovation of the premises and the new permanent display of the Modern Gallery.. He has prepared many monograph and retrospective exhibitions.. For his work he has been awarded the Belgrade Youth Prize, Zagreb Salon Prize for a film about Emanuel Vidović, the Tin Ujević Literature Prize, and the Order of the Croatian Daystar with Figure of Marko Marulić..
